Easy homemade soup recipes to keep you warm this winter

It’s cold. It’s windy and I can hear the rain hitting my window….. we’re right in the middle of soup season. Soups are one of those incredibly satisfying things to cook. Generally homemade soup recipes aren’t difficult to make, are a fantastic way of using up all sorts of vegetables that are getting a bit too old for anything else, AND they’re healthy.

If you are trying to keep to a tight budget, soup recipes are also a great way of making use of those yellow sticker offers in your local supermarkets. I have no idea if it’s the same in other countries, but in the UK when our supermarkets still have food on the shelves which is going to be out of date that evening, they discount them heavily around 6pm, so you can often pick up packets of vegetables for literal pennies. I often find mushrooms discounted and make this mushroom soup recipe when I do.

Here are some soup recipes that we often make each autumn as the weathers starts to cool down, and we always make them in a s big a batch as possible as they all freeze really well. And the one thing better than home made soup is home made soup that you only need to reheat 🙂
